West View residents are invited to the grand opening for a new multi-purpose community facility called the HUB from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Several years of work by volunteers to create a gathering place in West View where children and adults can receive a wide-range of services has come to fruition.

On June 5, community leaders and volunteers hosted a street party to cut the ribbon on the West View Hub.

A West View native’s interest in giving back helped transform a former bank into a community asset.

The West View Hub opened on June 5 in an old PNC Bank on Perry Highway. At first glance, the Hub appears to be a long-needed library, but the community resource center.. offers a variety of services

The new Hub of West View isn’t just a library and community center. It’s also a monument to the borough’s unique heritage.

The building itself is a repurposed PNC Bank branch on Perrysville Avenue with the marble teller windows still intact. The main area is dotted with murals and memorabilia from the dearly departed West View Park

You’ve got to be a little nutty to take this job. These three recent college graduates must be. They’ve been been hired to drive across the U.S. in a peanut-shaped van.

West View residents soon will have their own library, which also will serve as a central location for a number of agencies and organizations that provide community services and will be appropriately named the West View HUB.
